In the area of present Turkmenistan the oldest proofs of molossoid dogs were found in anctient settlement of Dzheitun (4th century BC). Another proof is a terracotta figure found in the settlement of Altyn (the Bronze Age) in the territory of modern Turkmenistan. A figure of dog with cut ears and tail and hardly visible transition of a forehead to a muzzle and a strong body - which definitely looks like a modern Turkmen Alabai.
